The culmination of their years of dance training along with improved body awareness, efficiency of movement and comprehension propel our dancers into furthering their creativity and self-expression through movement and performance.
Once the fundamentals of dance and movement are in place, dancers work on more complex concepts, strengthen their technique & develop more skills in their given genre. Students should expect to see more difficult combinations and choreography at this level. Dancers are also challenged to seek their highest potential as athletes, artists and performers! Students are able to select from certain styles of dance and may even sign up for more than one section (depending on space available). Placement in the Level 3 classes is determined by the instructors according to skill level, age, years of dance training, along with other considerations for the student in order for them to be successful in the class.

Pre-Pointe & Pointe Class
(Grades 7+)
*By Invitation Only*
The use of pointe shoes is an extension of traditional ballet technique. Because of the strength required, dancers must be taking at least two dance classes per week (at least 1 Ballet class) to be considered for pointe training. Students ages 12+ are continually being evaluated by their teacher to determine if they are ready to begin pointe. When their teacher feels a student is ready, they receive an invitation to join HDE's Summer Pre-Pointe Training program. In order to be considered, a dancer must be physically and mentally developed and their training continues beyond the pointe class into technique & their combo level classes. Pointe & Pre-Pointe classes are usually 30-45 minutes in length and typically always follow a Ballet or Technique class.

TECHNIQUE
All Students Grades 7+ Welcome
*Required for Show Stoppers, Pre-Pointe & Pointe Dancers*
Technique allows students to improve the depth of their dance skills and knowledge of their bodies. A once weekly technique class in addition to a student's other classes can also help students improve body condition & recovery! The class focuses on deep core awareness, proper joint mobilization, rest & recovery and overall health & athletic performance. Flexibility & strength become more prevalent in turns, leaps & complex choreography. We want our dancers to be confidence in their bodies & abilities!
"A good technique class should bring the dancers' body back into balance." -Dolly Kelepecz
